Explicit Language: A couple of the interviews have some cuss words. We've left them in the transcript for authenticity and educational purposes, and have been censored in the English translation. However, it won't take much imagination to figure out what was said… you've been warned
Audio / Visual Quality: There are parts where you will definitely need the subtitles! Rui and Joel filmed most of the footage while walking with heavy backpacks, so most of these moments wouldn't have been captured if the gear wasn't very minimal and quick to set up. That said, we hope to improve the quality in future projects!

This movie is almost dangerously inspiring. It makes me want it all: learn Portuguese, see Portugal, walk the Caminho! Thanks to the subtitles, translations and vocabulary lists, its content is fully accessible to everyone, even to beginners like myself. And I love the soundtrack! I definitely think you should do one more, time permitting. Compelling visual storytelling like this is such a powerful way to learn a language.

This is a brilliant film and just the right length. When you walk the Camino, the days are long and tiring so you don’t really have too much time and energy to explore the towns. The north of Portugal, especially the Minho, is beautiful. Most estrangeiros think of Portugal as only the Algarve. It would be good to make another film to properly experience the northern towns, eg Braga, Guimaraes, Barcelos, Viana do Castelo, Ponte de Lima, in more detail as there are so many interesting places to explore and to show the real Portugal. The Camino from Lisbon to Porto via Santarem, Golega, Tomas and Coimbra is also a great walk, often very remote
Hi David, so glad you liked it! We’ve got another similar (but shorter) film on the way that we’re wrapping up the production of, so this encourages us to prioritize it even more. We’d love to do more like this (and of course it’s a ton of work), but it’s very rewarding to receive feedback like this.
Quando eu era pequena o meu avô chamava-me “cachopa”, coisa que eu acho engraçada porque os meus avós eram de Lourinhã, não do Norte. Também a minha avó dizia “auga.” Não sei porque é que existem estas diferenças entre as aldeias de Portugal.
“Auga” é mais típico do norte, mas “cachopa/cachopo” é capaz de ser conhecido em vários pontos do país, mesmo que nem todas as pessoas o usem. É mesmo curioso a forma como a língua evolui em cada região.

Wow awesome. I see you guys did this in 2019. I was due to start this month, April 2023 with a friend but unfortunately events have meant we have had to postpone. But we will be doing the walk, probably the coastal one from Porto. But thank you for this monumental documentary you brought tears of joy to my eyes.
Sorry to hear you’ve had to postpone, and hope you’re able to do the walk soon. Some recent comments have inspired us to do something like this again, since although it was a ton of work, it was very rewarding. A bit trickier now with kids, but where there’s a will there’s a way… Obrigado e “bom caminho!”
